Ayie

I recently posted some of my birthday blessings which came from my family but I haven't included this one from my in-laws and the other special gift I was mentioning back then. That will come in later posts. This birthday seems to be the longest ever, a friend even called me the other day so that she could give her present to me. Their gesture and thoughtfulness gives a lot more meaning with the gift giving. Not looking at the material matters but the meaning and feelings sent with it.

This bright yellow active top is perfect for the rest of summer or during my walks however it's bigger than I thought. It's ok since mama-in-law always knew my size as "M" (asian size) but one thing I found out here, my size usually falls under "XS to S". I like the top and I still plan to use it even if it's bigger than my size. This is the best way for me to show them I appreciate their present. This instance made me more aware of checking my right size for clothing here. So I googled and checked for some buying guides in one of my recently visited shopping engine ShopWiki.

This site has various guides for women's fashion trends all the way to the petite clothing for women (suitable for petites like me). The tips they provided on getting the right fit really helped me nail down issues clouding up my mind. I was never a fashionista, I merely choose clothes by comfort and just dress up whenever needed. I'm happy to have known this shopping engine which has all these helpful tips.

hi Ayie, hope you are having a good weekend. Same here, i usually wear my presents especially if I like it and they see it, so that they know I appreciate their gifts.

oh, so sorry.....i missed your birthday, guess i had been lost with my very busy sched but it is not an excuse. hope all is well ayie. belated happy birthday.

Yellow is such a cheerful color. I bet you'll stand out wearing it for your walks. :)

For me too, I'll wear/use my present as a sign of appreciation.

It's Sunday Ayie. What's your plan for the day?

  3. Bengbeng Says:

it is a nice color for you... and yes, there is a difference between Asian sizes and international sizes. Mrs BB always has to b sure which sizes they refer to..it can be very misleading

  4. Tekkaus Says:

You are so blessed o Ayie. You received so many gifts from family friends. Haha :D

  5. Tekkaus Says:

How about your iPhone? LOL :D

  6. lina Says:

I like international sizes better. Makes me feel I'm smaller. :D
You know, I buy stuff either M or L here at home, but when I shop in Japan, I had to go for L or LL. That's depressing! LOL

  7. hehe vous êtes petite et belle!
    purrs and love
    Luna

  8. levian Says:

from M to XS! wow, the size difference is huge.
i guess the largest problem with buying clothes online,
is we never get to try the piece of clothing out ourselves
to see if it really fits. :)

  9. ladyviral Says:

I wonder why they think all Asians are petite in size... Even I find it hard to get clothes in Asia!

I have to look for XL in asian size just so I would be comfortable (ha yes I am big size person... fat as well hehe)

But in a size of USA I can fit into M hahaha.. :P

    Betchai,

That's ok, I know you're very busy since before classes started. Thanks so much for the greetings. It doesn't matter if it's very early or very late, I appreciate the thought.

How's your weekend? We had a busy one. Our Saturday was organizing day and Sunday mass and extra works =)

Goodnight! hehe just sneaking for a little commenting while hubs is away from the computer.

  11. ayie Says:

    Lina,

The color is really cool and bright, people might not even take a glimpse coz it will hurt their eye on a bright sunny day! ahahaha! Good thing it's nothing too fitted and not midriff or else that will be a stand out. I admit I like looking at those sexy girls jogging around! =P

I get to read your comment last sat night but thru hubs, didn't get the chance to do computer stuffs anymore. Still work days on sat and sund for us =) just side stuffs.

Goodnight! Back to work again tomorrow. Thanks!

  12. foongpc Says:

Looks like most Westerners are bigger in size compared to Asians. But it's good of you to still wear it despite not very suitable in size. I kinda like the cheerful sunny yellow!! : )

  13. Ayie Says:

    Bengbeng,

You think so, the color will suit me? thanks =) Indeed can be very misleading. The only simsilar thing is that I still get to buy my clothes from juniors section.

  14. Mummy Gwen Says:

Very nice top. Yellow is very eye-catching hehe. On my..I'm quite slim, if I'm in the US, I might have to fit into kids or teens sizes of clothings already..hahaha?

  15. Ayie Says:

    Tekkaus,

I'm still exploring the iphone =P I am not using yet coz I need to record contacts. Most of my contacts are in phone mem, that's why. I just keep playing with it, there's a nice cute game there. haha!

I'm so thankful for the gifts, never thought I'll get so much this year.

  16. Mummy Gwen Says:

Psst psst...alot of opps nowadays huh..hehe

  17. Ayie Says:

    Lina,

Japan size is way smaller so we're practically the same. I rarely get L in asian sizes except if I'm getting from teens section. Also if the chest part soen't seem to fit in M, i have to get L. hehe

btw, when are you off to Japan again? can I ask a teeny weeny favor?

  18. Ayie Says:

    Luna,

hehe my husband calls me "tiny"

    thanks =)

  19. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

That's why i don't buy much online only when i see something I am pretty sure will fit me and I like badly. =) hehe your size is way smaller. xs or from teens section

  20. Ayie Says:

    Ladyviral,

not fat my dear, just say big boned! =P

that's exactly the size conversion here =)

  21. Ayie Says:

    Foong,

I like that kind of yellow too, like pastel yellow. It's very cooling to the eyes. Of course I'll still wear it, maybe with some tube top inside or soemthing else coz it looks daring with its armholes so big for me. Just at least to show I appreciate the gift =)

  22. Ayie Says:

    Mummy sexy,

that's the very reason why i call you sexy! You have such a small frame, like my sis. You an fit in XS in regular or L in teens section. I also don't get my clothes from the women's...soooo big!

hehehe...opps can't be taken forgranted if it knocks to your door. right?

    how's your weekend?

  23. levian Says:

understood the "like badly" part, imagine it had me laughing out loud. XD
sometimes the attraction was just too hard to fend off n we can't help but to fall directly in it. :p
teen section, that reminds me, while hanging out with my friends back then,
we used to hang at the kids section, looking at those disney t-shirts with big drawings.
n to think that we actually bought those home was .. amazing. :p

  24. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

i love those disney shirts but i always go to the garfield section. I have some shirt collection for garfield =) good thing my size doesn't change I can still use everything

  25. i don't actually like wearing tops like that as that will reveal my big ugly collarbones. :(

but i bet it looks good on you Ayie. yellow sure is a pleasant color.

  26. Mariuca Says:

I love this yellow, so sunny and cheery! Happy birthday again sweetie, glad u got so many cool gifts! :)

  27. benghui Says:

hello i am benghui. How are you?I am so happy to read your blog

  28. Ayie Says:

    Ramblings,

I think the color will look good on you too LR coz you have fair skin and don't be too harsh on yourself with that collarbone. These are pretty comfy to wear =) thanks

  29. Ayie Says:

    Mariuca,

Thanks so much marzie!! You know what, I Noticed most give me this kind of color for shirts. They must like the color for me. hehe

  30. Ayie Says:

    Benghui,

Hi Benhui! Glad to know you are really doing well now. Thanks for coming over and reading my blog.

  31. levian Says:

garfield! then you share that with my sister, she is one huge garfield fan back then. :D
me, i am more of a snoopy fan.
i am still wearing some of those kiddy t-shirts,
but they tend to be much fitting. :p

  32. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

good morning to you!! I'm still a big garfield fan and I plan to complete a book library of garfield digest here =P

Used to like snoopy when I was really young like 7-10 but later on I'm hooked on garf already. I'm wearing one of my fave shirt right now!!

  33. J.H Says:

wow, you are one blessed girl :D
    happy belated birthday to you!

  34. haha... I would like to wear a S or XS! I should buy American-sized garments. :P

  35. Monica Says:

nice top Ayie! I love the color ;)

  36. Monica Says:

I'm also wearing an XS or S :-P

  37. Ayie Says:

    JH,

Thanks for the greetings! I'm blessed indeed, very much this year =)

  38. Ayie Says:

    ECL,

That's the way to do it, get US sizes =P

  39. Ayie Says:

    Monica,

Thanks Mon, the color is sunny and bright =)

But your xs or s is asian size right? You have such a slim frame.

  40. levian Says:

wow, a library of garfield digest!
you are one huge fan to beat. i am way too far from that, unless vampires counts? :p
remember to capture some photographs of them for us to be amazed at.
i imagine to be pretty envious for garfield fanatics out there. :p

  41. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

i just like garfield coz he's kind of unique and not that easy to be pirated... you can tell which one is original and not =)

  42. levian Says:

    ah, that is so true,
compare to snoopy, garfield is much harder to imitate.
i tried snoopy before, but never succeeded in getting a garfield right. XD
