Rain harvesting has been practiced since the old days. No water taps or pipe lines before therefore rain was the main source of water mostly for inland areas. Rain is collected in rain barrels where it's stored for later consumption. Though we have all the water piping facilities nowadays, a rain barrel can be very useful most especially in campgrounds. Through this water can be stored if there's no nearby water source like brooks, streams or rivers.
Not only that we're lucky to be lodged in small but cozy cabin in the woods, just outside it there's a water pipe & faucet. We need not to go by the creek to get our hands washed or use the purified water we brought with us because we have it right outside the cabin. It's great to have an easy access with water because the pit toilet is just a little down across the cabin.
The place might not be your ideal comfort inn during travels but fresh air, warm sun and crystal clear creek water makes up for all the odds of comfort vacation. I didn't get to take much photos as I have been carrying baby with me all the time. Mommy has to make sure baby's well secured in this new environment and thank God he never fussed or cried all throughout the days we were there. Too bad I didn't get to capture how my little boy enjoyed dipping his toes in the water but I managed to snap some good shots of the reflective creek before sunset. It's beautiful!
The water look so inviting... I want to jump in!
