Jq, my husband's youngest sister who is 10 now. She's the only one born in the Philippines when they temporarily migrated there. Hubs and Jq are very close and I think you can see it from the photo. When hubs had to come back here in US sometime 2005 it was very hard for this girl but through me she's constantly in touch with her big brother.
She started schooling in the Philippines and I remember her first ever graduation in nursery (pre-school) that me and hubs attended. She's a smart girl having her first medal that time. Soon after that big brother wasn't around anymore so it's me who checks her in school from time to time. I was also working that time so I only get to see her weekly. Sometimes surprise visits during her snack break or lunch time depends on my work time schedule. We used to go out every Saturday accompanying her and MIL to the grocery, eat out and movies. There are times I sleep over and I take her to Sunday mass just like we used to do with hubs before he left.
Now that she's here with us (yeah they are temporarily staying with me and hubs) Jq's so busy with school now, in 5th grade. Most of the time when it comes to Math & Algebra help his other brother will take charge.
We don't really drag too much in teaching her since we have internet here at home and most of us are busy with work. We can actually refer to Math problems & Math answers those times we're too busy to attend to her same with the Algebra 2 help she needs. It's great that there are available online math help nowadays, much much much more convenient than how it was before. I find it fun and more interactive for kids to learn this way since they are more in the modern age using computers for everything. It's almost the same as having somebody to tutor her Algebra word problems & math word problems except it's an online math tutor who is a professional math tutor working one-on-one with her. There's no limit with the number of sessions for the online math tutoring it can be as often as needed. The cool part is using the virtual whiteboard workspace where the student and tutor draw and share problems, solutions and explanations.

Yeah took that shot. We were in the cemetery visiting their deceased sister. They are actually laying down on the grass tomb. hehe I think she's about 5yrs old here.

We actually treated her like our own kid since she's really young almost like our kid to our age. Hubs was also almost leaving for US already so we were making the most of our time together.
