Ayie

This one? Oh no, this isn't our "not too classic ride" because this certainly falls on the classic or vintage collection. This is just one of our model cars here at home =) It must be cool to have a real vintage car up and running but I think it will require a lot more maintenance and good insurance.

Here's our semi-classic car, a Nissan Datsun 200SX 1983. Yes that old already but in good running condition. We're so happy with this car that hubs and I don't even think of giving it away or selling it (you might not believe it but other people seem to be attracted with this car). We're actually impressed that it's pretty sophisticated during the year it was made because of all automatic transmission. This car needs to be fully restored and hopefully we can do it soon perhaps after getting another car.

Why get another car? It's not for mere luxury but as necessity. Here having your own transpo is very important. It's hard to move around without your time being so compromised if you rely completely on public transport system. Also we'll need another car at least before I give birth or when our baby's out. SUV will be good to have since we already have a small compact car. It will be really helpful for me and hubs to be mobile enough most especially during emergencies. But having to consider getting another car isn't easy not only in terms of money but also with insurance. I believe we'll get into that in time, nothing can be rushed right now most especially at this economic state.

How about you, what car type do you prefer to have?

my mum is driving a datsun too.
i believe older than yours, since hers is manual.
i prefer a small sized car myself.
like you, i feel like a car are just required to bring us from 1 place to another.
therefore it doesn't have to be too fancy, just handy. :)

  2. Hahah,

I thought the first car was yours. It made me froth my mouth. Anyway, classic cars are plenty in our Kuching, Sarawak (i think they are old cars rather than classic). So far, there's no limit of years car can be driven on the road in Malaysia. Unlike in Japan, cars can be on the road for five years only. How about over there?

    Hi Ayie!

Don't have any preference towards cars. Although I like riding in luxury cars, frugality made both Zaini and I favours fuel-efficient cars. (Not that we can affor luxury cars anyway). Hehehe

  4. Superman Says:

Insurance for car is really expensive. When you had any accident, it will not be easy to make a claim even we paid the insurance every year. Sigh...
I will prefer SUV as can take the whole family out for fun. Last time I used to think of those sedan cars but when I get older, I think SUV is better as can take more people in. It will be fun to have a 7 seated car.

  5. Tekkaus Says:

Agree Ayie! As long as it is up and running and no matter how old it is...why not right? :D I am still riding my 24 years old bike. D

  6. ladyviral Says:

In my current situation, a car that can me to Town A to Town B is a good enough car...

If I can afford it, I would love to own a Lamborghini... well, who wouldn't right? Hhahaha... But other than a sports car? I would prefer a simple volvo :).

  7. Mummy Gwen Says:

Your Nissan is quite long huh. Do you have problem parking the car? :P I prefer an automatic car than a manual one..hehe. My first car was a small 850cc car..haha. Now, I dont feel save driving such a small car. I'm very happy with my Hubby's almost 3 years old Honda Civic..hehe..it can run real fast. :D

  8. oh sweetie, beautiful pictures!
In fact I don't understand much about cars, even I prefer walking to drive!
But for sure you will need a comfortable car ( with a lot of space inside)for the beautiful baby that is coming!
    God bless you
    Léia

all the best in looking a new car! It's always though when you need to buy "what you need" and not exactly what you want :-) But I am sure you'll find something that'll fit to your need.

  10. wenn Says:

    without a car..i can't live..

  11. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

There's also a manual transmission of this same model. Being practical is better right?

  12. Ayie Says:

    Willie,

Here? I think it's nothing like Japan. You cn see old crs here up and running the freeway. I enjoy it when I come across a classic like those I featured in my vintage display posts before. Cool!

  13. Ayie Says:

    Lina,

Hello there! I believe being practical with everything is good to observe. That doesn't mean we get less of what we need right?

  14. Ayie Says:

    Superman,

I always fancy SUV than any other cars. To think I'm small but I love big cars! lol I believe too that it will be safer for our baby to have a bigger car than a compact one.

  15. Ayie Says:

    Tekkaus,

Yes as long as it can take you to your destination, agree?

  16. Ayie Says:

    LadyV,

Ooooh, your ideal cars come with a hefty tag price huh!

  17. Ayie Says:

    Mummy Sexy,

That's actually compact...just the front is deceiving =) it has that long sleek front coz it's modeled from those sports type cars. That's also the reason why we are highly considering to get another car most likely SUV because it feels safer for our new addition.

  18. Ayie Says:

    Leia,

I believe I'd love to walk also if i am living where you are now =) So much beautiful places to see around! Yes a bigger car will be more convenient for us and the baby =)

  19. Ayie Says:

    Jessica,

Thanks! We'll surely find one that suits our needs most.

  20. Ayie Says:

    Wenn,

  24. Mariuca Says:

I can't wait for ur baby to arrive sweetie, I wonder if it's a boy or a girl hmmmmm :)

  25. Carver Says:

I like the classic car in the first shot although it wouldn't be very practical. Your Nisaan looks like it's still in good condition. That's great.

  26. Ayie Says:

    Anya,

Oh so sorry to hear that...get well really soon. Yes hopefu;lly we can get a good deala and the car we really desire to have! thanks!

  27. Ayie Says:

    Marzie,

that's elisse playign there by the mall rides! you can never win with that girl, she'll have to go there and enjoy her rides before you can even do anything in the mall! she knows it like our home! hahaha

  28. Ayie Says:

    Marzie,

Talking about classic or vintage collection, I have many, sure, they are model cars by Mattel.
They are so nicely made. I love them.

  31. foongpc Says:

I want to drive a Ferrari.

  32. foongpc Says:

But honestly, I don't really like to buy expensive cars cos they are really lousy investments! The value drops as soon as you drive it out of the car showroom!

  33. foongpc Says:

Cars are liabilities, not assets. So I won't spend too much on cars. I am fine with a car that brings me from point A to point B and is in good working condition.

  34. levian Says:

    absolutely.
at some point, i guess it is best to know how to drive both. :)

  35. Ayie Says:

    Rainfield,

    I like cars by Mattel!

  36. Ayie Says:

    Foong,

it's sure nice to have fancy cars but you're right...the value depreciates in an instant so a more practical choice is better.

  37. Ayie Says:

    Levian,

If you know how to drive manual then you can drive the automatic...it's easy. I am more fond of driving manual though...

  38. donna Says:

    any car will do.. hahahaha..
as long as got wheel, can reach to any place and most important!!!
    AUTO!
    your kid is so cute!

  39. Ayie Says:

    Donna,

yup, a good working dar is good enough than none right? she's my dearest niece...cutie =)
